Cal-Tot is a play-based child care and preschool program located in downtown Los Angeles in the Ronald Reagan State Building. Our program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and managed by Creative Child. We offer quality care and early childhood education for families of state employees, as well as members of the downtown and surrounding Los Angeles communities. Cal-Tot is licensed for up to sixty-five children, ages six weeks through five years.

Health & Safety Information

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Cal-Tot is following guidelines and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, and the Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing Division. Whenever the guidelines differ, we will follow the more rigorous requirements. Below are some of the safety protocols we have adopted. A detailed protocol can be provided upon request or we would be happy to answer any questions directly.

Screening - Upon arrival and prior to entering the facility, each child and staff will be screened with a touchless thermometer. As we have done in prior years, children will wash their hands upon arrival, before and after meals, after outside play, after using the restroom, and after coughing or sneezing.

Exposure/Testing Protocols - Optional, weekly testing is provided on site for families. A detailed protocol has been adopted that addresses various topics such as close contact with an infected person, the development of symptoms, and when testing is required to return to Cal-Tot.

Masks - All staff will wear a surgical mask (doubled) or higher grade (N95/KN95) mask at all times. All children 2 years old and older will wear a mask except when eating, napping, or playing outside.

Sanitation - Toys, high-touch areas, bathrooms, and outdoor areas are regularly disinfected throughout the day.

Our hours are currently Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
